Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has disclosed the names of its candidates for four parliamentary seats in Delhi, as part of its alliance with the Congress under the INDIA bloc. In adherence to the seat-sharing agreement, AAP will contest in four out of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, specifically in New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi, and East Delhi. The remaining three seats – Chandni Chowk, North East, and North West Delhi – have been allocated to the Congress. The collaborative effort aims to strengthen the opposition's position in Delhi, Haryana, Goa, and Gujarat during the upcoming elections.
In Delhi, AAP has nominated Kuldeep Kumar and Somnath Bharti for East Delhi and New Delhi seats, respectively, while Sahiram Pahalwan and Mahabal Mishra will represent the party in South Delhi and West Delhi. Additionally, Sushil Gupta is AAP's candidate for the Kurukshetra parliamentary seat in Haryana, in accordance with the seat-sharing agreement. The alliance extends beyond Delhi, as Congress contests 24 out of 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat, while AAP secures Bharuch and Bhavnagar. Both parties will independently compete in Punjab, marking a collaborative yet independent approach to the elections.
